Montrose V Stirling at Links Park Stadium - Match Preview

Garden missing key trio

Montrose boss Stuart Garden is without the services of three senior players when they play host to Stirling.

Paul Watson, Garry Wood and David Gray are all suspended but Garden has been boosted by the return of Stephen McNally and Lloyd Young after injury.

Garden said: "We had a great win at Arbroath last weekend in difficult conditions especially when we went down to ten men when Paul was sent off. We need to show the same spirit that we showedin that game against Stirling Albion.

"They have brought in some good players so this will be a hard contest especially with the 3 players out."

Stirling could hand debuts to new duo Dale Fulton and David Weatherston.

The former Falkirk pair joined the club this week and could go straight into the starting line-up with Stephen Day and Sandy Cunningham both unavailable.

Manager Greig McDonald is also considering a recall for David McClune after making a speedy recovery from groin surgery.

McDonald said: "Montrose had a great result last weekend when they won at Arbroath especially when you consider they did it with 10 men. It is always a hard venue to go to and a win would be a terrific start to the season."
