Gretna 4 Montrose 1
Gretna came from behind to crash four goals past Montrose and smash the third division's scoring record - but manager Rowan Alexander wasn't impressed.
The Gretna boss said: "I thought we were very poor all round and 4-1 didn't reflect the game.
"Montrose's young kids worked hard and had a right go at us, and our defending was atrocious. "
Gretna have now bagged 90 league goals, surpassing the previous best, 87, of 1999 champions Ross County and last season's champs Stranraer - and still have 10 matches to play.
But Alexander insisted: "I'm not interested in records, I'm only interested in getting a trophy in the cabinet from May."
Young striker Martin Wood gave Montrose a 27th minute lead when he pounced on a back-pass around the Gretna keeper and coolly fired the ball home. Gavin Skelton levelled almost on half-time with a shot that Montrose keeper James Butter got a hand to but couldn't stop.
Kenny Deuchar's header gave Gretna a 56th minute lead, and Montrose were reduced to 10 men three minutes later when defender Kerr Dodds brought down Bryan Gilfillan in the box and was red-carded, with Mark Birch scoring from the spot.
And Deuchar had the last word for Gretna, scoring his 30th league goal of the season with a 14-yard drive.
Disappointed Montrose boss Henry Hall said: "I thought the sending-off was unjust. Kerr never touched the Gretna player.
"But, after that, it was all over with 10 men against a team of Gretna's quality."
