Arbroath brushed aside nine-man Montrose with a comfortable 5-0 win to move within just two points of league leaders Stranraer.
Josh Falkingham poked home from close range to put The Red Lichties in front after 34 minutes and Gavin Swankie doubled the advantage six minutes later when he rifled a shot into the top corner from just inside the 18-yard-box.
Montrose midfielder Chris Hegarty was dismissed for violent conduct in the 42nd minute before Falkingham added a third with a simple finish from 12 yards.
Gordon Pope then saw red for the home side, and Swankie added a fourth with a low strike before seeing his hat-trick chances spurned when Sandy Wood saved his 81st-minute penalty.
Steven Doris made it 5-0 from the spot in injury time following a foul on Swankie.
