Queens Park let two promotion points slip when they were held to a draw at Montrose.

Queens must be wondering how they managed to take only one point after dominating the 90 minutes and creating a string of chances.

Queens Park went close after 14 minutes when Kevin Proctor laid the ball off to Mark Ferry and he drove wide from good position. Ten minutes later a lovely flick from Paul Harvey put Tony Quinn in on goal, but he drove into the side netting.

Queens continued to press and Ferry headed wide from a Harver cross. Then Harvey shot wide from a Proctor knock-down.

The visitors should certainly have scored after 35 minutes when Proctor found himself on his own eight yards from goal, but again his shot was just the wrong side of the post.

Right on half-time a close-range shot from Proctor didn't have enough power and Sandy Wood dived to save.

Queens Park continued to dominate in the second half, and again Ferry shot into the side netting.

Montrose had a chance on the hour mark when Hugh Davidson drove narrowly wide.

Queens Park went close again after 69 minutes when a Proctor header from a Harvey corner was cleared off the line by Kris Brash.

Queens attacked right to the final whistle, and after 87minutes a drive from Proctor was deflected for a corner. Two minutes from time Alan Trouten broke on the right, and from his cross Quinn headed over from five yards range.
